Worth It!

Yes, the price is a bit excessive, but for those saying you can get an original in the same condition for this price or less...are simply wrong. If you want a solid MINT Optimus Prime, this is your only bet. Otherwise you’re spending hundreds on a boxed G1 toy. This also has the long smokestacks, which have yet to be released in the U.S since the original, meaning non of the other reissues over the years (i think) have these smokestacks. The only weakness is the sticker sheet...for $50 the stickers should be of higher quality. They are very thin, and i had one rip on me trying to peel it off the sheet. So final verdict, yes, $50 is tough to swallow, but you’d have to pay much more to have a mint version of this toy.

Wonderful Toy. Wonderful collectible.

A wonderful reproduction of the Optimus Prime Figure (cab only). The only thing that could have made this better is if the trailer and roller were also included. All joints are tight. The red of the cab, is a shade darker than the original G1 version and is more in line with the coloring of the cartoon. The smokestacks are the original height and not the stubby version from the Toy R Us reissue from years back. I recommend it.

The G1 Transformers are special- not only because of their unique art design but the physical transformations are so simple and intuitive. G1 Optimus is a fantastically conceived artistic accomplishment.
