Works great, but the size makes transport tricky
This item works really great.. The only catch is, the 50" version makes it difficult for transport - it just fits in my trunk (barely). So while I was at my camping trip, I grabbed a hacksaw, and cut the legs about 24' inches from the top, used a 1/2" die to thread each of the ends I cut, and with a 1/2" threaded threaded coupling I was able to cut the size in half for easy transport, but still maintain the structural integrity of the tripod. It just easily screws together and break down very easily. I'm surprised that Camp Chef doesn't do this at the factory. Regardless, the product is great. It is nice an solid, and with the 12qt dutch oven, there was no concern about stability (even with a full 12qt dutch oven full of chili). The DIY modification works great also, and no issues with stability for a heavy load. All in all, I would recommend this item.

THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY.
This is a nice heavy duty tripod. It is very stable and easily holds a large cast iron Dutch oven. Stick with this 50 inch size it is the perfect height to maintain the temperature you want. A must have for any camper.
