I was really excited to see this at my door when I got home. I love scented candles, but I don't always want to light them because I sometimes leave without extinguishing them, then I worry about whether or not I blew them out before I left. It says it's a bronze color, but it's more of a black than anything. Not really a problem because I do like black in pretty much everything. Most of the furniture in my apartment is black so this goes well with it. The platform is wide enough that you can place a decent sized candle on it without it hanging over the edge or tipping over and spilling it's contents. You get two bulbs, which is awesome because I still haven't searched for these particular bulbs and don't know how common or uncommon they are. It's nice to have a backup as well in case one burns out or is defective. They pop right in and secure with a slight twist. The height is easily adjustable and there's a recessed area for smaller candles or encased tea light candles. The light itself has 4 or 5 brightness settings. I love the inline power and brightness control but wish it were a bit closer to the lamp itself rather than closer to the plug. It has a timer option so you can set it to turn off overnight or after you leave if you want to come back to a better smelling place. I feel it's safer for my cats than lighting the candles. I have one that's far too nosy and I don't always want to set my candles on the highest pieces of furniture in my place to ensure safety of the cats or the home. This would be perfect for reading or meditating. Also great for people who don't like to deal with the soot that builds up on the wick or smoke that comes after blowing them out. Plus you don't have to look for a lighter without fluid or matches. I originally intended this as a gift, but I'm thinking I'll keep this one for myself!
