You can use these anywhere up to 5-7 miles away.

These walkies are pretty impressive. The signal will reach about 7 miles in rural areas, 3-4 miles in the mountains. but only 1 mile in a big city. These are so much better quality than the last ones I bought (signal worked across Walmart, thats about it for distance. The first pair I bought were for my daughter and they didn't go very far at all (like 20-30 feet. but they were disney's "Frozen" walkies for little ones. These can be used at a school (elementary to call for student parents upon arrival. etc)

This set of walkie talkies g200 are not that bad out of the box come with a head set rechargeable batteries AA and Mini usb charging cables easy read instructions. Basically they work like any other walkie talkie they need to be fully charged before use after I put the range to test Took a walk two blocks from my home they work flawlessly.also you can scan for weather alerts has built in led light to see where you are going at night has low batt alert overall not that bad I like to include they are made up of a hard plastic for durability they work well for me.
