Camp Chef Kodiak, TTS22CA42, 20,000 BTU Propane Compact Camp Stove

I've used several different brands of camp stoves like this, so I kind of expected the same kind of thing. BUT I noticed some big differences in this compared to some of the other big brand camp stoves. The first thing I noticed was the look and feel of the Kodiak. It has a more modern look and feel, with a matte finish. Not necessarily a game changer in terms of performance, but if you're going for aesthetic alone, this is a good buy. This stove is also very sturdy. When you lock it into place with the windscreen up, it's not going anywhere it also locks into place when closed so it's not gonna open up in transportation. I also notice a lot less rickety sounds or rattles on the drive or when carrying it around, so I could tell that a lot of thought went into the design to even include how it sounds and how it's built. Also a matter of convenience, but I do really appreciate the comfortable handle that's built into the bottom. I used this on a family camping trip in the North Cascades and it was so nice to have the double burner system, so I could boil water for my coffee while also working on breakfast for the kids at the same time. Overall, I'm glad I have this, and it will be joining me on many future camping trips.

I've brought the Kodiak stove on trips to Sequoia, Big Sur, and Yosemite, and it's been amazing every time. Super easy to set up, lightweight, and it heats up fast, even when it was windy. I love how compact it is but still powerful enough to cook full meals. The matchless ignition is super convenient, and the windscreen actually works (which isn't always the case with other stoves). Honestly, it's become one of my favorite pieces of camping gear. If you're looking for something reliable and easy to use, this is it! —Sophie
