Great stuff for septic system and swimming pool.

Our property has a septic tank rather than a city sewer system. We use copper sulphate crystals in the septic overflow to kill any roots in the leach field. We've had no problems with the system for the over 35 years we've been here. Also, just a small bit of copper sulphate in the pool chlorine distribution system takes care of any algae in the water for many months--usually until we dump a third or more of the water annually to get a fresh fill. It's great stuff.

I use this for algae control in my 24K gallon pool and the let the chlorine take care of bacteria. Studies show you can have a crystal clear sanitary pool with copper combined with chlorine. Usually I use a copper ionizer to keep my copper level at .3-.4PPM and Chlorine about the same .3-.4PPM The only reason I didn't give this a five star rating is. The only time I need to add copper is when we have a so much rain I have to drain off excess frequently I lose copper and my ionizer doesn't keep up with demand. Then I add Copper Sulfate but it doesn't take much usually to bring my pool. And the 5 pound bag is probably more than I'll need for boost in ten years. But it doesn't eat much and if I keep it sealed away from moisture it lasts and lasts. I would have liked a one pound bag.
