Key item features

  • Make your existing speakers wireless with Amphony's wireless speaker kit. Eliminate messy speaker cables in your room. This kit includes a wireless stereo amplifier that delivers 2x40 Watts power to any passive speakers.

The transmitter sends audio up to 300 feet (100 feet indoors) even through walls and ceilings. You'll get true CD quality with uncompressed better-than-Bluetooth digital wireless audio. The receiver has a power amplifier built in and connects directly to two passive loudspeakers. The built-in amplifier deliver the efficiency of regular class-D amplifiers at ultra-low audio distortion. A proprietary amplifier design ensures a linear frequency response regardless of the speaker load. It excels in amplifier listening tests.

The wireless amplifier measures only 5" x 3.5" x 2" and is easily mountable to a speaker.

The wireless transmission employs advanced adaptive frequency hopping. It avoids frequency channels occupied by other wireless devices and is highly robust against wireless interference.

The transmitter can send 2 audio channels to up to 4 wireless amplifiers. By using multiple transmitters you can create several audio zones in your house.

Exactly what I needed

I have hardwood flooring in my living room and thus cannot run speaker wires without causing clutter. I found this wireless kit which has turned out to be the perfect link between my rear speakers and Yamaha receiver. The transmitter connects directly to the zone 2 speaker-level outs. There are short speaker cables included in this kit for connecting the transmitter. Note though that you still need cable for connecting from the wireless receiver to the speakers. However in my setup the speakers are only 3 to 5 feet apart frm the receiver. Sound quality is quite impressive (essentially the same as hardwired). Be sure to set up the level control on the transmitter unit properly. Overall a neat product that fills a niche.

Cheaply made outdated tech, but it mostly works.

My choices were this Amphony speaker kit or a Rocketfish. This one had less bad reviews. The website says it works up to 300 ft and through walls, yet the manual tells you it needs line of sight. I couldn't get a stable signal ten feet across my living room without having the devices face each other directly. I tried it with the speaker device behind my couch. It cut in and out constantly. It interferes with my Logitech bluetooth receiver. It comes with an Iphone dock but it's only for NINE YEAR OLD phones. I was eventually able to pair it (Tip: Press the button on the speaker device first, then do the receiver device). I adjusted the surround delay to 45ms in my receiver to compensate for the lag in this system. It's overpriced junk and I'm pretty sure it hasn't been revised in 10-15 years. Even so, I was able to get it to work (other than the Bluetooth interference). There's not much competition for a device like this. I'm pretty sure that's the only reason this product is still on the market. Consider it a last resort.
