Love this Electric Griddle

I got this 22” Blackstone electric griddle to replace the 17” gas Blackstone griddle. The gas one is too heavy for me to get in and out of the camper. I'm 65 yrs old with bad back. The electric one is 10 lbs lighter, cook area is bigger and it has two independent cooking areas. 17” only has one burner. It fits perfect on my wheeled cart. I do miss the metal spatulas, but the trade off to nylon utensils is ok. My tongs have nylon tips, but handles are metal so they stick to the magnet on front of cart. So far I'm very happy with this purchase.

Great non stick surface for large amounts of food

You have to keep your expectations accurate, this is not a super high heat gas cooking surface, it is electric....cold items will drop the temperature and take a while to come back to temp. That being said, it is a very large, non stick cooking surface and you don't have to use very much oil to cook with. I am able to cook a LOT of food for my family of 3. If you allow for extra time cooking, and allow frozen items to thaw out on the counter for hours before, then this is a great indoor griddle. The non stick surface is very easy to wipe down, clean up is a breeze. The glass lid comes off very easy, I don't use it often so I like taking it off while cooking. Just make sure you do not use any metal utensils or abrasive scrub pads, be gentile and this will last a long time! I have mostly used it for breakfast items like eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, grilled toast, pancakes and the occasional frozen burgers, and diced chicken with vegetables, it handles everything without issue. But I highly recommend ordering the GREASE GATE (see photo, I labeled it) from Blackstone to block that grease hole in the rear when you are cooking small items like hash browns and vegetables, it keeps them from slipping into the grease trap....and it will happen because the very center of the griddle is bowed so that all liquids drain to the outsides, which means that small food in the middle of the griddle will occasionally want to slip and slide right into the grease hole....so spend the money, order the grease gate, use it when you need to.

My grandson cooks on the outdoor blackstone all summer, so this is great for winter months. He cooks breakfast and dinner on it. Great griddle!!
