Great product over the years, great water and unit. Filters did not scare me much, always concerned about o-rings and leaks, but the filters never leaked. The whole unit was a bit scary this first time with all the hoses disconnected and worri3ed that they'd keak afte re-attaching. Take a pic of all couplings, Remember to push-in to release existing hoses. Everything went back and did not leak. Iam back to great water for 3e years! Thanks APEC Ted

APEC's Essence ROES-50 system has been working well since first purchased several years ago, but it was time to replace all the filters (as we also have a whole house filtration system, we stretched this task out for the under-sink RO unit from the standard recommendation). The filters came well packaged, with instructions as reprinted from the user manual (small discrepancy, instructions stated that a new "tee" connection was also sent, but this was not the case; not a big deal since the original one was easily re-used). It was a bit intimidating to this lay plumber, but once I stopped the procrastinating it was a straightforward project (I was also hesitant given a professional plumber had just fixed a leak to the faucet, evidently the fault of the original installation squeezing the O-ring too tight so it eventually failed, causing a cabinet-damaging leak, but again not the fault of APEC). Having learned about the quick-connect tubing methodology, and taking care in the disassembly and re-assembly of the various filter units, I had no leaks and all worked as expected. After a deeper read of the user instructions, I plan to obtain the recommended TDS (total dissolved solids) meter, an inexpensive tool to be able to more precisely determine effectivity of the RO filter system and timing for future filter replacements. Included tools were also helpful.
