It worked right away. My cats hate the smell of it and have never scratched the new furniture. I have had my chaise lounge for close to 2 months now. We purchased a new living room set to replace an old cat scratched one. Through the years I have tried several different sprays with little success. I started using this spray, which has a gentle pleasant smell, and leaves no stain twice a day then only once. Now I use it maybe 2 or 3 times a week. It is the most effective spray I have ever used. I will always have one on hand just in case Sparky gets tempted again.
