Mainstays 8" Stainless Steel Chef Knife with Soft Grip & Black Handles

Excellent quality, I do not regret that I purchased two! Good sharp blades and nice sturdy handles. I use one for slicing bread and vegetables and the other one, I use only for raw meats (it slices so easily!) Thank you Walmart!

YES, it is a very inexpensive knife. It feels much more substantial than I expected. My problem is that the blade was dull straight out of the package. Fortunately I already own a knife sharpener. I've sharpened it once and seen a little improvement, but it's going to take a lot more sharpening before I can chop a carrot. Given the price I expected a sharp knife that would dull or break quickly. (I have bought other Mainstays knives in the past.) Instead I got a knife that feels like it will last, once I finally get it sharpened.
