According to Consumers Report, Eight O'Clock coffee is the best coffee you can buy for the money. They dark Italian roast Progresso coffee is superb because it is one of the few dark coffees that is strong and yet not bitter. It is the only coffee I drink and I drink two pots of it a day. I brew it like regular coffee, not like espresso, but I do, bro pretty strong. I tried to buy the whole beans several places and I either couldn't find them or it was extravagantly expensive. I have been buying my 8 o'clock coffee from Walmart for some time now because it is the best price available. I highly recommend a coffee and Walmart for the best place to buy it.

such good coffee
I was 17, crashing at a friend's house the way you do at that age—no plan, just a place to land for the night. Morning came slow, that quiet kind where the house is already awake before you are. I remember walking into the kitchen, still half asleep, asking if there was any coffee. His mom didn't hesitate. She pointed me toward the machine like it was an open invitation. “Go ahead,” she said. I opened the cabinet expecting to find the usual—pre-ground, nothing special. Instead, there it was: whole bean. I paused for a second, picked up the bag, and said something offhand, like, “You know, grinding these fresh actually makes a difference.” That was it. That one sentence flipped a switch. She lit up. Not just polite interest—genuinely excited. Like I had just said something worth hearing. She started telling me about coffee like it mattered. Not in a snobby way, just real. She mentioned Eight O'Clock Coffee specifically—said if you actually like coffee, spend the little extra. Not a lot. Just enough to care. There was something about how she said it. No pressure, no pitch. Just a quiet standard: if you're going to do something every day, don't cheap out on it. At 17, it didn't feel like a big moment. Just coffee. Just a morning. But it stuck. Now I'm 34. There's a cup sitting to my left as I write this—same brand she told me about back then. It's the only one I buy. It's not even just about the taste anymore. It's the ritual. Grinding the beans. The smell hitting before the first sip. That extra minute of doing it right instead of fast. It's a small thing, but it sets the tone. Looking back, that moment wasn't really about coffee. It was about standards. About recognizing that some things—especially the ones you do every day—deserve a little more attention, a little more intention. And somehow, all of that came from a random morning, in someone else's kitchen, when I was just a kid asking for coffee.

Current shrinkflation levels is a death-knell mode
I believe in this hopefully temporary consumer downturn of finances that all this ridiculous (shrinkflation) reverts to full weights and measures of former volume of product back to its former costs. Shrinkflation is not aiding consumer one bit. Very real and painful examples; A box of cereal was reduced in weight=volume yet at even at a higher price than a month ago. That missing volume was equivalent to two bowels of cereal now completely missing at any price it is less product gone away with no merit for who it is feeding. Coffee missing literal ounces means an average .050 an oz per cup is like four cups gone you are back to buying more, another trip caused by shrinkflation which isn't doing anyone any good you are coming home with far less over a month of grocery shopping. Senior citizens, families, veterans are feeling the well-known “three tiny plastic bags of nothingness” for $50 to $65 dollars every time at the checkout register. This cannot be tolerated once we are back on a financial track. In others words weights and measures or volumes must be brought back (returned back) pre shrinkflation levels in volume and pricing at pre financial down turn levels. We cannot have this stuck in motion levels as if nothing had happened. Just as shipping and deliveries spike costing must be returned back with lower fuel and transportation pricing so goes the products on our store shelves meaning product volumes and costs. We cannot chase an ((arbitrary game)) of wages chasing costs that is a game of death knell finances we can no longer play.
