Bosch 24" Silver Dishwasher with Interior Light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very impressed with this appliance. Quietest washer that I have ever owned. Cleans dishes as if they were new. Getting used to loading silverware on the upper rack. This allowed you to load more dishes since you have removed the utensil basket. Very happy with the quality.

I was skeptical even though reviews consistently rated the SHP9PCM5N high for cleaning ability, but the difference between how clean my dishes get now compared to all prior dishwashers I've owned or used is significant. I used to have to pre-rinse, now I choose to scrape hard items into trash (including small, such as açaí berry particles) to protect life of plumbing, but otherwise I don't need to pre-rinse like I used to do in past, saving overall water use (and time). It is very quiet like my prior machine (a Maytag from back before it was merged with Whirlpool), which I had also selected for quiet operation. I discovered my water tested as quite hard, so the water softener salt feature is useful. A couple of annoyances do exist though: 1) the rinse aid dispenser drips or leaks some rinse aid after each time I fill it. Wish it were a bit better seal, and wider opening where you fill it would help. I bought a funnel to compensate. 2) I wish some of the tines did not tilt. All the tines tilt. Some dishes are a struggle to place in the angled tines. And the width of the space for glasses between the tilted tines doesn't really accommodate my wider cups and coffee mugs, making it more challenging and less space efficient to load than prior machines. But the usefulness of the top (3rd) rack is better than anticipated, which adds capacity. I find the 3rd rack is not just for silverware, but useful for flat lids, small cookie sheets and even some smaller plates provided they are thin and shaped such that water doesn't pool on top when layed flat. Drying is excellent with the crystal system. Except for the two shortcomings mentioned it is a genuine upgrade from past dishwashers I've owned.
