I would've liked the noodles much wider, but...

This comes with a full pound of pasta! Not like the name brands that dialed back a number of years ago to 2/3 of a pound, so you had to buy two bags and try to guesstimate a third from the second bag. Everyone knows that dry pasta is sold by the pound, but the big manufacturers of egg noodles found a way to improve their profitability at the public's expense. This bag throws that trend into reverse and is just what the doctor ordered in our age of inflated food prices. If they were a little bit wider like the big brands, I'd have liked that better. Still, even as is I felt great about purchasing this bag, enjoyed cooking it, enjoyed eating it, and look forward to many more purchases of this and other Walmart branded better alternatives at a cut price.

From Soups to Casseroles - this is the winner

As the home chef for my family of 7, I cook a lot of food. I purchase the Great Value Medium Egg Noodles about every other week. I like the packaging and the noodles are never broken. I use the noodles in chicken or beef noodle soup, I make delicious "Cafeteria Noodles" (look up the recipe), casseroles, and with Beef Stroganoff and my youngest child prefers them boiled with butter and parmesan cheese sprinkled on them. Don't purchase the more expensive bag when the Great Value brand is just as good.

Nice size, cooks faster, not whole grain

I think these used to be called small. Medium is subjective, they are still the smallest twisted egg noodles. They cook faster and they don't stick to each other. These smaller ones are easier to eat neatly, longer ones can be sloppy to eat. The twist means a pound bag of these is fairly bulky. I want a whole grain version of these, smart eaters prefer whole grains.
