McCormick All Natural Kosher Cream Of Tartar, 1.5 oz Bottle

I have tried several store brands of cream of tartar to use in our preschool play dough making. After trying this McCormick brand, I will never use anything else. It made a big difference in how soft the dough was. So much easier for little hands to work with and it helped the dough last longer so we maximum play out of this batch. Thank you, McCormick, from myself and my littles!

I received a gratis cream of tartar from McCormick for my unbiased review. My only past experience with cream of tartar (which is not in tartar sauce, btw) was in making meringue for a pie. Cream of tartar is what gives the whipped eggs the height and stiff peaks that make meringue stable and fancy looking. This time I decided to try in basic breakfast eggs and as a cleaning agent. The product when whipped into eggs really give the finished product both an enhanced color and a fluffy appearance. My taster said he could taste a difference with the CofT added - but I did not. 2 eggs whipped up with the product looked more like a 3 egg dish. As for cleaning, I tried on the stainless steel pan I cooked the eggs with. The acidity and grit certainly did a good job in removing both residue from cooking and charred marks from the gas burner. At the price point I will probably stick with a traditional cleaner, but this did do a good job in getting the pan sparkly. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who would enjoy preparing meringues and macarons, frittatas, omlettes and scrambles.
