Parker Men’s SR1 Stainless Steel Straight Edge Razor with 5 Parker Platinum Blades

This razor is made well, stainless steel, and appears to be of great quality. Regretfully, having never used a straight razor and needing instructions, it took me a while to realize they had provided instructions that did not match exactly the razor I received. The first step was to open the arm clip, then separate the blade arms... this is where it got difficult. The blade arms could not be separated though it did open slightly on one end. The instructions stated to "align" the blade with the position pins, however, it was not possible with the blade arms not opening fully to align it. What makes this even worse is trying to handle a very very sharp blade. One end of the blade slid in easily but the other end would not go in... so, now, I have a nice straight razor with which I cannot get a blade in - at least not easily - and not wanting to cut myself it is quietly sitting in my bathroom drawer. .. apparently never to use. This is a nice razor, but useless if you cannot load a blade safely and easily... not recommended for a novice (maybe, not even a veteran shaver).

Overall quality is acceptable but rivets are not done properly and fingers tend to get stuck on them signs of poor workmanship. If the rivets were to be done correctly I would give this item 5 stars.
