There seems to be a lot of confusion when It comes to this television and I hope my review can help clarify for users who aren't as technically savy as your more advanced user. This tv is a very good deal for someone looking to use this as a 4k monitor for pc gaming and media consumption. The tv has a very good picture when properly tuned and is very competive with the other tvs in its price range, most of which feature 1080p. My only complaint of the image quality is color accuracy which is noticeable but no jarring. The contrast ratio rating seemed low but after I played with the settings the black levels were much better than I expected from an edge lit led display. It obviously cant match the Higher end sets but its amazing how much Tv you can get for the money in 2016, and in my opinion you need to jump at least $100 to get a comparable hisense H7c or a vizio e43-du. The other sets offer slightly better image quality but the differnces are minor compared to the 1/3 gap in price which is significant. For monitor use it is surprisingly good despite the limitations of the rgbw panel. With my Nvidia GTX 960 I'm able to push 4k at 60 fps and its very sharp and with the sharpness on the TV down text is very legible and I haven't had any problems in my day to day use. watching native 4k content on youtube looks superb and Netflix also looks very good, the upscaling is surprisingly good with a good gpu. It doesn't support 4.4.4 chroma nor have I been able to push higher than 60hz in 1080p, but for your average user it makes a much better monitor than a cheap 1080p set due to much better use of the screen resolution with a 2160p resolution. I also haven't noticed any input lag at all with this while gaming so it makes a great monitor for casual gamers who don't need 144hz or free sync. So to sum this review up, for those with the hardware to push 4k this television is a magnificent value and offers a low cost low risk way to enter the world of 4k. if your just looking for a tv to plug and play and not have to fuss with the settings I would recommend the vizio d43 with its more accurate out of the box color and contrast. Though if you know what youre getting into the scepter u435cv is a fantastic deal for the frugal, and for 99% of consumers this is a perfectly acceptable TV for under $300,
