Pipe Clamps

I bought 4 sets of the no thread pipe clamps and they work great. Instead of having to have multiple different sizes of pipe that needs to threaded these work real well without threads. Quick and easy to switch to different length pipe and hold the work well. I Highly recommend them.

junk

bought 2 of the 1/2" #224212 for a project I was working on (hugh mistake) I have had one of the older models (the kind that you need threaded pipe) I have used over and over, but I needed a few more with longer pipe so I bought 2 of these. its true you dont need a threaded pipe, but you have these 2 loose fitting components that are flopping all over the pipe (if you have a pipe over 5 feet long you can't hold them in place) it is easy to hold one clamp in place on the pipe, but not two. I really like the older kind, much easier to work with. I will happily trade both of these worthless items for one of the older types (threaded). this is another classic example of an engineer being just smart enough to take something that works great and convert it to something that is worthless.

Broke on 2nd use

I bought two sets of these for a project, I chose to buy a brand-name like IRWIN instead of a cheap knock-off brand as while I don't plan to use them much, I understand that quality tools are worthwhile. Used to hold some boards together. Overall project is to glue 4 boards together. Yesterday I glued boards 1 & 2 and let it sit overnight to dry. Today I was adding board 3 to the mix and notice that one of the clamps had already cracked. Looked at the warranty and while I suppose it's great that they are willing to replace the item, replacement with something I can maybe expect to work once isn't really that great of an option.
