Great product, recommended

I often puchase a brisket nearly every week from Walmart, sometimes two. These briskets are of a good quality. Always wrapped very well in strong cryovac, never had a problem with them opening or leaking. They are always a good size and they are always priced well. I cannot find a better price and the fact that they are local to my house is fantastic. People often ask me about the tenderness of the brisket when I tell them I got mine from Walmart. I tell them that the meat is great and always consistent but tenderness is all in the cook, as most brisket makers know. When you get your cook where you want it, it should be as tender as you like it. I definitely recommend these briskets

Brisket to Pastrami experiment

I am still marinating this brisket to eventually make a pastrami. The meat looks real good. I trimmed a lot of fat off, but that is according to the cuisine artist. I will know more in another week or so. I am marinating this brisket in a heavily spiced brine, and experts say to go at least 6 or 7 days, but they also say that the longer the better. So, I am going for two weeks. I will write the rest of this review when it is finished and record my tastes of the brisket.

Good, but still too expensive

The price is still too high, but when I decided to grind half of the flat to add to ground pork because I couldn't afford a brisket and hamburger that helped a little.. Plus that gave me two distinct meals smoked brisket and Italian style meatballs. Having a meat grinder has opened up new ways to save money.. You can grind chicken thighs skin and all just de-bone and make a very good breakfast sausage..
