You want to avoid the ugly appearance of the common "U" shaped post saddles on the market. Made to be used on concrete and stone-installs in minutes! Do not use for guard rails.

Composite and synthetic boards are very dense and if holes are not pre-drilled you may snap off the head of the screw. Also pre-drilling holes on wood or composite deck boards anytime a screw will be driven very close to the edge of a board. This will prevent the board from splitting. |
