First off, I'd like to say that I use an Omega 300 between three different rifles: one is a 300 Blackout AR platform, the other is a 5.56 DMR AR platform, and a .308 bolt action.
I'm sure, like most of you here, I have used many, many different products over the years that make some pretty bold claims, and some of them do work fairly well. I've been happy with a lot of products in my time, but this Suppressor Shield and Ceramic Shield have been the best product by far. So much so that I use it on all of my duty weapons now as well as my personal ones.
I apologize in advance if this is a jumbled mess; typing skills and making things coherent aren't a strong suit of mine, but I will try my best, LOL.
The picture of my bolt face is after about 500 rounds without cleaning of M855. You can see the ring of carbon around where the primer sits, along with the other carbon and debris around where the shell casing sits.
The photo of the bolt face that looks to be more clean is after 20 rounds of firing with its first treatment of Suppressor Shield through the suppressor. None was added directly to the bolt in my initial application; that is all blowback through the gas system from firing rounds through a suppressed firearm.
The bolt carrier group was noticeably wet
with Suppressor Shield, which is awesome, meaning it is, in fact, working its way from the suppressor back through the system because of the gas blowback.
I fired a total of 1,000 rounds, or slightly over, of 300 Blackout through the Omega
300 using Suppressor Shield.
Previously, before Suppressor Shield, I
would have to take apart the bolt carrier
group after about 15 or 20 rounds of
cheap Wolf full-power loads because the
bolt would be very hard to move inside of
the carrier, and I would make it about 40
or 50 rounds, and the bolt would do the
same thing using good subsonic ammo.
After applying Suppressor Shield, I have
shot just at, or barely over, 1,000 rounds, and I am having zero bolt carrier group
issues in that timeframe.
So it made an issue that was very
prominent non-existent.
At the time of this review, I have just over 1,200 rounds through the 300 Blackout alone using this product with zero maintenance other than two applications of Suppressor Shield: one at the initial start of the test, and after 50 rounds, I did a reapplication in the suppressor and used Ceramic Shield as well for the bolt carrier group, and then ran it up to just over 1,200 rounds with no maintenance in between, and it performed very well.
I should add that I have not cleaned the
gun or the suppressor in that timeframe, so there was no outside help; it was all Suppressor Shield that made it possible.
And in case it's of any importance to you, most ammo fired out of our 5.56 guns is M855 from Winchester and PMC, mainly Winchester, though, and our .308 guns we are also using Winchester and PMC M80 ball. Through my 300 Blackout, it is mainly Hornady Black 208-grain subsonic.
