component for its own bed frame
You see the picture given with the headboard just has a mattress. So if like me, you have a box spring your pillows will hide the shelf some as there is no height adjustment. The top of my mattress is about flush with the bottom of the shelf. Wish it were taller. Other than that very sturdy and received flawless.
