Thermos style is the way to go
I had a Thermos coffee pot / coffee make and love it - could not image going back to the fragile glass that sits and burns on the burner. I found this perfect one on Walmart.com for half the price of the one - and literally - there was only one - thermos style maker at Walmart store and at Bed bath beyond. It is soo compact so it does not take up the counter space. The coffee stays warm in the thermos without worry of a burner burning up the glass pot or your house.
