Does come off by itself.
The cone works and fits properly, though you do have to watch it. if left unattended, like overnight, the spring/memory of the plastic does pull the velcro apart. I am going to try to remedy this by rolling the cone very tightly, and if that doesn't work, I'll try other methods to relieve some of the tension on the velcro. Now the velcro is good velcro, just be careful, and check the connection periodically and/or take steps to relieve the tension or secure the connection.
