The appearance is an off grey. It has a very soft nice scent. I don't smoke so I can smell very well. This scent does not linger. It is a nice smoothing mask. I did not get the shine I was looking for but super soft hair. The first time. Tip: Wet hair after washing. Section hair. Smooth on mask from root to ends. Leave it sit for 10 minutes. I used a plastic cap. It was on for 20. Rise out. I air dry my hair. It is silky soft. People want to touch my old grey hair now! A guy said I have silver streaks sparkling in my hair! His wife said ask her PLEASE, they were behind me. He says excuse me is that your natural color, and do you have silver clip ins in your hair? Ok second time there are definite results I could not see. Defiantly worth what you spend. I t does what it claims.i think too on younger hair you would get that smooth gloss shine. This was recommended by a hair stylist. Walmart has the best price.
