Safavieh Heritage Shevon Oriental Area Rug, Light Brown/Gray, 9'6" x 13'6"

I think this is a nice rug and I love the pattern. It seems to be durable although it's fibers are pretty stiff and “bristley”. It sheds a TON of short wirey fibers at first but shedding it pretty typical with a new area rug of this type, and the rug has softened over time. It's taken about a month of daily use and several vacuums to break-in. My shark vacuum canister is completely full after vacuuming. I've attached pics. Overall it's a lovely area rug and I'm buying a couple smaller sized rugs to match. I purchased a no-slip rug pad but i don't think it's necessary- at least for the 10' x 8' size. It stays put on my hard wood floor.

Come now, I shouldn't have to say this but "DON'T FOLD LARGE RUGS!" My 9 x 13 foot rug arrived folded in half and then rolled to fit in a 4.5' x 5.5' rectangle wrapped in plastic. The backing is really distorted and crinkled now. If your rug arrives this way, I would suggest immediately unfold it and then rolling it, for a few days before laying it on the floor or pad because it helped remove the crinkles on the backing. I almost considered returning it but I did get a good price on it so I will keep it. I loved the thickness and colors of this wool rug; but the rug does shed and that is typical of most wool rugs so I am okay with the shedding. It will lighten up with the shedding in a few months. The backing did have excess glue showing through on the corners.
