With a fabulous CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) rating from AHAM (Association of Home Appliances Manufacturers), this unit is best used for medium to large living spaces, kitchens or bedrooms. The Winix 5300-2 uses a three-stage air cleaning system featuring an odor-reducing carbon filter, 99.97 percent True HEPA filter and Winix PlasmaWave Technology.

Very effective and quiet
As an allergy sufferer I shopped for an air purifier for several weeks and tried various models . This one was by far the best! I also bought the C535 which is nearly identical functionally. After just one week of use the pre filter looked like the lint trap in my dryer! I couldn't believe how much dust, dirt, pollen etc it was pulling out of the air. Aside from that, the best part is how quiet this unit operates. I am very sensitive to sounds and returned several other models for this reason. This makes a soft wooshing noise with no buzzing or vibrating noise at all. Great unit at a great price and I am definitely breathing easier!

Didn't notice a thing.
Came home from work and didn't notice a thing. I'd say that's pretty good. Smelled nothing in the house but fresh air. I have a cat (litter, cat food, emptied cat food cans, etc. ) And I had smoked in the house that morning. My new Winix 5300-2 had been running while I worked and took care of every possible odor in the air. Can't ask for better than that. Plugged it in when I got it, it played the tune and started out on blue, went to amber and then red. I ran it on the third fan setting and very quickly the red turned to blue and has been that way ever since. It's quiet and I feel that it's the best addition to the house since the cat. The Winix is everything good reviewers said about it and I'm buying a second one for the bedroom and master bath area. Simple and easy and an attractive piece.
