The shelf is supperzingly strong for its weight and steel gauge. The finish is very smooth and better looking than gray paint with sharp edges. It could be used in an office and not look "Industrial" I would however like an extra 2" wider so to allow 3 milk crates to fit.

Excellent product. Looks great, couldn't be easier to assemble, seems very solid and sturdy, and provides plenty of storage space for whatever you need to store. I haven't pushed it to its limit weight wise so I don't know how well it holds up with the max weight on it but otherwise, you can't go wrong with this shelving unit.
