Note No Viewing Window and No Markings
The grinding mechanism is smooth and item is well made. It is very easy to fill as well. You fill the entire shaft, so it holds a pretty good amount. It is solid wood with no specific marking on the outside such as an S or P, and with no viewing window either, there is no way to see what is actually inside, i.e., salt, pepper, etc. or if you need to refill soon. Sadly, after purchasing and using it, I personally found the lack of a viewing window to be a rather big deal so I ended up purchasing a different set WITH viewing windows and am much much happier with those.
