Very sturdy shoe

These shoes have a tight fit around the ankle making it a little difficult to put them on. The loops at the front and back of the shoe tops really help. I wear a medium weight sport sock and a lighter weight sock might work better. You need a full-length sock or else the shoe top will chafe your ankle. The shoe sole is very strong and thick. I would think that the shoe sole will give a long life.

Great casual boot is an excellent value!

These boots are not made of leather -- but I knew that when I bought them. I just wanted to say that up front so there was no confusion. That is the reason why I would rate these a 4-star for quality. With that said, these boots fit well, don't hurt my feet, and more importantly don't chafe my shins. They provide excellent grip and are waterproof as far as I can tell -- and I've been wearing them for a few weeks in dreary, wet, slushy, cold Ohio winter weather. They clean up nicely with a bit of leather cleaner on a microfiber cloth, but they don't get "shiny" if that is something you are looking for.
