The cup included is hand wash only. In place of it, I use a tall, sturdy, dishwasher-safe cup the same volume, and it works great. The coffee is brewed hot like normal, but your cup is filled with ice, so it makes iced coffee. I put cream and sugar on top of the ice before starting it, so that it dissolves better with the hot brew flowing over it.

I am a Starbucks coffee lover! I brew a pot Starbucks coffee in my regular coffee pot and put it in the refrigerator. It taste okay, but not like one from the actual store. I seen this pot advertised on Facebook. My first thought was " it is just like a regualr coffee pot". Believe me when I say NO it is not! I was skeptical but bought it anyway. It arrived today and of course I had to use it right away. When I say I love this machine, I mean I LOVE it!!!! The very first cup tasted Like a Starbucks barista had made it. It was delicious!!! If you love iceed coffee do yourself a favor and buy this coffee maker! You will not regret it!!!!

The coffee maker is great once you learn how to use it. The start button has to be firmly pushed, and if you don't have fairly strong fingers, it can be difficult to push in hard enough to get it to start.
