Good Quality for the Price - Arrived ON TIME too!

My old ''GE'' microwave was about 7 yrs. old, then the ''light show'' began.. I knew I didn't want to risk anything else happening, so I went to Walmart.com and looked at all their microwaves.. I did my research on a lot of them, and came to this Magic Chef ... It's staineless steel on the outside AND inside ... it should be a whole lot easier to keep clean ... although I always keep mine clean to begin with... It's quieter than the GE was and easier to use too...It arrived in a few days and was ''out of the box'' and set up on my Counter in less than 10 minutes...So far, I've had it a little over a week, .. it's great looking on my countertop too.. For the price, size and design, it was a ''No Brainer'' for me... it cost me less than any microwave I've bought in the past.. I also opened up a Walmart.com credit card which offered $25.00 credit if I used it that day towards my purchase...Can't beat that either!

So glad I bought this!

Researched for months before buying and finally decided to buy this model. Was a little put off as it does not have a baked potato button, but the potatoes cook very well without it. My last microwave beeped too much, 5 when done, then more if you did not open the door within 2 minutes. Very annoying. This one beeps 3 times and then not again. I don't understand the piece of cardboard that is inside. If you have a mess which sometimes happens when some foods splatter, the cardboard gets dirty and can't be cleaned. I would just remove it but the manual says not to do this. But overall, think this is a great buy. Only time will tell. Nice looking, don't freak like I did as it is encased with blue plastic that you have to remove. I thought I had messed up and ordered a blue microwave.

Overall, so far so good!

This item is very light. There is no push bar/buttom to open the door. Just have to pull the handle. But, the feet on the bottom are made of very a solid material and when I pulled the handle to open the door, the whole unit slid towards the edge of the counter. I would have to hold the unit while opening the door to prevent it from sliding off the counter. I resolved this little problem very quickly be attaching one non slip gripper pad to the bottom of each foot. (they can be bought in any hardware store.) The gripper pads hold the unit firmly to the counter top and the unit does not move at all when I pull on the handle to open the door. Another small problem. When I want to heat something, and we use this microwave 90% of the time for heating, I press the start, speed cook button which adds 30 seconds per touch. If you press it twice, 60 seconds appears. If I stop there, after about 5 second the unit comes on and starts to heat the item in the unit. I have pressed the button right above the speed cook button which is the clock button. Now I have to reset the clock before I can start over with the speed cook. Just have to get use to where the speed cook button is. SS inside is really very nice. Rounded corners without seams makes the inside easy to clean. Heating 16 ounces of water to a near boiling takes about 3.5 minutes at near sea level. Seems to have enough power and may be a little faster than our old Sharp, which was just about the same size and power. I don't think better can be found for the price. Have been using this item for three weeks now.
