Does exactly what you want it to do…In my case it was cover. Wanted the dirt covered in planters. Works well, thicker bag allows you to not worry about it splitting. Granules allows water to move through well. No complaints.

I decided to put this sand on top of the indoor plants' dirt to help hold moisture throughout the winter. Also, as the sand seeps into the soil, it will keep the dirt loose to improve drainage allowing water and plant food can get through the soil to the roots. I like the look of it instead of dirt. It seems cleaner.
