beautiful chair
I was reluctant to get this chair because I felt it did not match my style. It arrived in a box in essentially 6 pieces (Seat, Back and four legs). Assembly was a snap, The four legs screwed in by hand and the back simply dropped in, no tools required. It seems very sturdy as long as you really tighten the legs well. The finish on the real wood legs was flawless, a beautiful dark wood finish. Note that the rear legs are different than the front legs and must be oriented a certain way when fully tightened unlike the font legs which you simply tighten until they are good and tight. Fortunately, due to precise manufacturing both back legs were oriented perfectly when tight, I appreciate good design, workmanship and quality control, kudos! I don't know why the the name has the word velvet in it because the fabric is definitely not velvet. It is a very coarse weave which seems quite durable and the colors are an off-white, turquoise and brown. Once I sat it upright, fully assembled, I thought it seems a bit fancy for me but that did not last long as I began feeling it was a great update to my style (or lack thereof). So now we are thinking of redesigning the entire room around this chair, using the colors, patterns and lines throughout the room, a complete remodel! I can't wait to start. It is hard to pick fault with this chair but there are a couple things that certain people might not like. One is that the chair is VERY firm, this is not a cushy everyday chair to curl up and binge watch your favorite show in, It is more of a stylish accent chair for occasional use or guests to sit in. Of course younger people won't be be bothered much I suppose. The other thing is the seat is very deep. I am 5'9" and my back barely reaches the chairback in a normal seated position. So anyone under 5'9" will likely not be able to sit upright with back support without a footstool, pillow or curling their legs up on the seat which are all practical solutions for some people. Overall, I think this would be a GREAT chair for most people except for maybe short seniors.

We really love this chair. It was easy to put together, no tools needed. It's very comfortable. We got it for extra seating for living room. It's a beautiful chair. It is missing one silver brad on the front right below seat which isn't noticeable unless your microscoping the chair. I think we can get those at a hardware store. It's not a big deal to us. The chair adds a lot to our all brown furniture.
