An excellent book that touches on many social issues including race, stereotyping, and our criminal justice system. Written in a different style from much traditional young-adult fiction, this book is engaging and thought provoking. I would recommend this book to students who might struggle with traditional text and who might be engaged and motivated to examine issues of justice and injustice, as well as discrimination and bias against youth. Certainly not a book that can be read without spurring discussion... use it to that end, and this book is extremely valuable in many different contexts. David C.
