Melody 7.5" in. x 54 in. Color Hymn, Laminate Wood Flooring (28.73 sq. ft. / Carton)

I'm very happy with this well-made, beautiful flooring. The wood grain looks virtually identical to real wood, with realistic grain, along with a few knots left from old branches, too. The finish is matte, which is what I wanted and seems good to me for a white-washed wooden floor of this type. The coloring is perfect, neutral, and fits in with my home perfectly. There is a light texture, like from fine grain within the wood, which is more or less spread evenly across the planks. When I walk on it, it feels like real wood and helps the floor less slippery and, well, more like wood than polished stone or some sort of plastic tile. Yet, this is much easier to clean than real wood floors, and they don't seem to scratch or scuff much either. I found that they are very easy to install, and there are videos online which showed me how to click them together -- and I actually installed them on top of my old linoleum floor. My only advice is to plan out where you'll start and finish so the floor is basically seamless, with any trimming left for the end, and basically out of sight, if that makes sense.

When looking for an upgrade for our old black and white checkerboard pattern tile we were surprised to learn that WalMart had many options to choose from. The Melody “Hymn” Laminate Wood flooring we selected is a beautiful wide plank wood laminate with a modern farm house chic white washed oak appearance. This flooring is designed for use with or without or without an adhesive. It firmly snaps together and can “float” on top of existing hardwood or concrete. We are using a laminate wood flooring adhesive in this instance. While all boards are the same length it cuts very nicely with a power saw to create random length sections. The wide boards cut down on the number of cuts and the time required to lay down a whole room worth of floor. At about five-sixteenths of an inch thick the boards are light and easy to handle. And being real wood looks so much more realistic than its vinyl plank cousins. The manufacturer, Shaw, lists a number of transition pieces you will likely need for doorways and where the laminate meets carpet. I am still looking for a source for those so colors match. We are quite happy with this choice and are considering adding it to an adjoining room
