Beautiful Option for a Rain Barrel

Had a path on the side of the house leading to the front yard gate. Wanted to put in a stone path with perrenials all along it against the fence. Only problem was the gutter downspout emptied out where I wanted the path. A traditional, round ugly barrel would have ruined the look. This is just beautiful, adds interest. Because it's in the shade, I planted ferns in it. Did put down a piece of heavy-duty weed fabric over the holes in the planter portion so dirt would not flow into the barrel portion. One tip, used the flexi downspouts from [...] to connect the gutter to the barrel. The end of the flexispout did not want to stay in the barrel top, so I took the top off and turned it over, made a couple of small cuts in end of flexispout so I could push it in further then duct taped it in place from the inside...made connecting flexispout to gutter much easier and provides for a neat, finished look.

These rain barrels are so nice!

We have laid pavers for our patio and the water from the gutters and downspouts kept washing out the grouting, so bought 2 of these rain barrels for the downspouts and they just work beautifully. In addition to the usefulness, have planted flowers in the top of them and they look amazing. Definitely add a uniqueness to our patio. Everyone loves them!
