We have bad storms here and I have generators, and flashlights, but after watching the movie Crawl, I decided that having a crankable let ght would be good idea. I bought three of these hand crank flashlight radios. I received them in about a week. Upon opening all three, I found them to work properly. I cranked for one full minute, as per the directions. After switching the power on switch at the bottom the radio, the siren and the flash light all worked for over the 10 minutes, as per the advertisement. The flashlight has a high and low setting that also worked well. The radio picked up multiple stations, but they became static fairly easily. I believe that to be reasonable, because of the small size. The USB output, near the power switch, worked to give my smart phone a very small charge. It was enough to make an emergency call. The USB power in put worked well. I ran all three lights until dead then put them on a USB charging cable I had here at home. A cable does not come with the flashlight. All three ran for more than 20 minutes (when I shut them off). I did not test the storm proof claim. You can see the speaker through the slats and I did not want to tempt it. I would keep these in ziplock bags just in case.
