Oru Kayak Foldable Kayak Lake Sport | Lightweight, Portable & Stable - Lake and River Kayaks - Beginner to Intermediate

I got tired of my inflatable kayak (too heavy, too much effort to get out on the water) and decided to upgrade to this foldable. It is lighter than expected, so I can haul it around with no problem, even folded out, and I'm a fairly petite woman. Now I can get out on the water fast and without much effort, though unfolding it for the first time took a while to figure out. By the second time, it was easy. Now I just need to figure out how to be more graceful getting in and out of it on the dock!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and my 16 year old grandson joined me on my first attempt at trying out our new Lake Sport kayak at Central California's San Joaquin River Canyon. After watching several videos and studying the manual, we had no real problem with putting everything together. At first, my wife thought it looked “Too flimsy”. However, once we all tried it, we agreed it tracked very nicely, and that it was a very good and solid kayak. Very stable, and actually very easy to handle, this Lake Sport model responded very nicely to paddle movements while turning and backtracking, reacting very well to direction adjustments. Surprising to me, as I had heard in one video that over water this kayak actually “Felt like a barge”, it actually moved quite at a good pace on the calm waters of the section of the river we were at. After seeing how well made and sturdy the Lake Sport Model is, I am now considering getting an Inlet Model at a later date. The Lake Sport is definitely a good investment for those who want to get into the sport of Kayaking the right way. Definitely, the foot rest and upgraded seat are a big plus in this model. I definitely recommend this Oru Lake Sport kayak Model.
