Kitchens of India Spicy Curry Paste, 3.5 oz Packet, Pack of 6

My family loves this stuff. I'd call it authentic (as if I'd know what that was living in Iowa). But it's a great curry paste, no work whatsoever, just add the liquid and stir. I always add veggies , from chickpeas (rehydrated or canned), carrots, onions, potatoes, beets, sweet potatoes, turnips, parsnips, squash, etc. Whatever I might have picked up at the market or whatever is in season. Sometimes it's just cubed carrots and potatoes, with a cup of green peas for color. I usually add a half cup to 1 cup of halfnhalf or cream to it after everything is done, I've used fresh cut up veggies and I've used a bag of frozen root veggies, and I've used canned carrots and potatoes . The root veggies (parsnip, carrot, sweet potato, beets), was really yummy. Walmart has them in the frozen section. We serve it with basmati rice. I also cut up chicken breast , or leg quarters and debone them to add to the curry since we are meat eaters. THis week I tried pork chops cubed. They are easier to cube if sliced while still slightly frozen. We liked the pork. We also like to add sliced mushrooms, either fresh or canned button mushrooms. We rotate thru the tiki masala, the chicken curry flavors of this packaged curry mix. The butter chicken was ok, but turns out we didn't really care for the fenugreek seasoning. So we are sticking with the chicken curry and tiki masala versions for now. First time I bought this, it was on sale for a great price. The normal price isn't too bad either at around $2.16-$2.33 per meal packet of curry sauce. I sometimes add regular curry spice to my final mix up depending on how many veggies I've added. This last time, I added some cutup green cabbage . We like the spice level (medium heat). I think the cream smooths out the spice level a little bit. It comes to about 3 cups of liquid (including the cream) and whatever veggies / meat you decide to add. The tiki masala has somewhat of a tomato base and the chicken curry doesn't. Both curries end up with an orange / red color after cooked. We do like the texture of chick peas (garbanzo beans) in the curries.
