Wonderful Salt Licks For More Than Horses

Since I no longer have a horse, I continue to use these salt licks for our wild animals. Our chipmunks especially love these as well as our deer. They do not dissolve too quickly and we simply set them on the ground or hang them from a nail on a wooden post for the animals to access. Our squirrels and chipmunks used to chew the mortar around the bricks on our home to get minerals. But no more since these licks supply their needs. The price is also very good and I will continue to purchase these. They came very well-packaged and right on time.

Deer are always in my yard eating my plants and compost but they did not touch the rock salt! Im surprised based on the info I have read on rock salt and the fact that it was hung next to the compost. Maybe they were tempted by compost instead? Maybe because I hung it on a fence instead of tree? Not sure. It slowly dissolved by all the rain we have received. I bought 2 so will hang the other from a tree branch. The compost is covered now. We will see...
