We have used a similar glass container with lid for years and it works extremely well for filtered water, juices, and tea. However, they do break into about 316 pieces of various sizes if you decide to shake out the water used to clean it and the glass container slips out of your hand and crashes to the porcelain sink below. Thereafter, I decided to just turn the glass container upside down and let it dry on its own.

I bought 2 of these 1/2 gallon pitchers. I have a 1 gallon and it's too heavy and too tall in my fridge. I absolutely love these 1/2 gallon size as they much light to lug in and out of the fridge as well as they fit much better. Also, I can have one tea that's sweetened and one that's not or just different flavors. Lids are quite sturdy and do not leak at all!
