I can not say enough good things about this product. It has taken all of the guess work out of jam and jelly making and the sweat from standing over a hot stove stirring stirring and stirring for what seemed like forever. Some day, I hope they figure out how to make one of a larger capacity, but for now, this is great!

I used fresh peach and fresh strawberry, following the manufacturer's directions precisely, and was very happy with the results. It is nice to have this on my island counter instead of cooking over the stove. It is also nice to do smaller batches from our garden. Also, I will try Pomona's pectin in the future, just to see. They have a small paragraph on their website about using electric jam makers and bread machines with their product to make jam/jelly (FAQ, #6, first question). Worth a try for a small batch, maybe of rhubarb, something that won't hurt so bad if it doesn't set! I truly appreciate things that work!

If you're a starter jam maker or one who likes to experiment, this is a great machine to have. Recipes are still limited, but I have already added to recipes in the book. It's relatively easy to manage and doesn't take up a lot of counter space. Drawbacks are using Ball products( not always easy to find) and having to wait 1/2 hour between batches. I plan to experiment using other pectins, as I have several boxes on hand.
