I have wanted these boots for years, but I was concerned that the wide calf would not fit me, especially since all other wide calf, zippered boots do not fit me. I measured my calves and was right at the limit… I read tons of reviews, most of which spoke of how difficult they were to get on and off… I ordered a pair to try… I typically wear size 8.0-9.0, decided to try size 8.5 based on reviews, thinking- IF they fit my calves… I could adjust footbed fit with thinner or thicker socks. I was shocked that they fit! AND, I can wear them with (thin) blue jeans!! I would say they run slightly too big, but it works well with real socks. First time I wore them, I did a lot of walking through a large airport, tons of sightseeing/walking and the boots are fantastic! I love that there is no zipper to chew up my ankles, or for my calves to bust open the zipper at the worst possible time. The boots are wonderful and remarkably comfortable.

These are a gorgeous color

These are a gorgeous color and look even cuter on. I had to order a half size smaller than my usual size and get the wide calf version . It takes work to get them on at the ankle and heel. I don't have large calves but they are muscular/shapely. Only skinny stick calves would fit in the non-wide version of these boots.

The boots were fine; just not my size

I miscalculated my size; normally take a 9, but have a bunion that I have to allow for so ordered a 10. Thought my calves were wide (13.5") based on other Frye boots, but these were way too big. Then ordered a 9.5 regular calf, which fit, but which were very difficult to get on and off. Finally ordered the Melissa Lug back zip in 9.5 and am very pleased with them.
