Frye Paul Bal Leather Oxford, 12, Brown

Does not disappoint. Leather is great and supple. Will need upkeep in the dry conditions in Colorado but any good shoe does. Was very excited when I saw a size 14 from Frye as my previous 13's were too snug. Wider foot but not that much. The additional length of the 14 provides more toe box. Just getting started with these but so far so very good!

These feel great -- comfortable and broken in -- from the first wear. Good quality leather. One tip: I normally order Frye's a half size smaller than my regular size because the leather expands as it softens. I ordered these in my regular size; that was a good call because the leather comes soft and broken in. And one fashion tip: The photos don't really show how thin, height-wise, these shoes are at the toe. Not saying the toebox is uncomfortable, just that there's little visible height on the shoes at the toe. That's fine in a dress shoe, but if you're looking for a shoe with a little heft at the toe, these probably aren't for you.
