Yummy cheeseball or dip

I buy this dried beef for one reason - to make a cheeseball/dip that my family loves. I've been making it for 50 years. I make it with an 8-ounce tub of whipped cream cheese, 2.25-ounce jar of Armour Star dried beef, and an 4.25-ounce can of chopped black olives. Mix and serve with crackers, pretzels or veggie slices. Thank you Armour Star! Couldn't do it without you!!

I am learning to cook and SOS as they called it in the Navy, is fairly easy to prepare and I think, is tasty and filling. My wife rinses it first to help desalt it as she hates a lot of salt, and this has a fair amount. I don't ever add salt to it but I do like a bit of pepper on mine.

I use this beef to make a cheese ball. I dice up a few slices to mix into the cream cheese along with a bunch of green onions, a few splahes of worstershire sauce, 3 blocks of cream cheese, form into a ball and use the rest of the beef to wrap around the ball. Leave the top of ball bare spread slivered almonds over top. this beef adds the right amount of saltyness and makes a perfect presentation.
