This bed is the perfect size. Not too big not too small. Don't forget to measure the space you're working with, and compare it to the measurements of this bed. The wooden slats DO line up perfectly they just require a little bit more force/ pulling/ tugging than the rest of the bed. Everything you need IS INCLUDED. The instructions include a picture of when you're supposed to attach the slats and it shows what looks like an extra wooden piece that you're supposed to have to attach the slats. It's NOT an extra piece, they just decided to not show the entire slat, just the end of it and it makes it seem as if there is an extra piece missing. I do hope this made sense. Overall, I'd purchase this bed a thousand times over. Very pleased. Thank you
