If you're looking for a flavorful sauce this is it. It has a tanginess that sticks out because of the butternut squash, and yet doesn't overwhelm the flavors of other items. There's no acidic or bitterness that you sometimes experience with other red sauces! Hands down my fave

We have used Dave's squash mix for years as a method of tuning down pasta sauce, add some great additional flavors. It's unfortunate our local Walmart doesn't stock it anymore, that I have to order it online.

I think this will work well with cut sausage bits. It also invites the use of alternative pastas made from other than wheat. Jar is more convenient than a can for single people.
