However, more recently built houses will have 4 prongs electric dryer plug adapters for clothes. This new 4-prong dryer adapter converter is for connecting your old type of 3-pole dryer plug into your new house's 4-pole dryer 14-30 outlet to get power. It still has two hot wires, one neutral, and a grounding pin which will be safer. Both outlets showed still provide 30 Amps of service. 1-YEAR WARRANTY.

Works great, watch for tiny shock on unplugging
Dewenwils 1.5' dryer adapter cord, 3 prong to 4 prong: It's done a wonderful job so far. It might take a tiny bit of muscle to get it into the socket, but that means it's tight. Careful when unplugging, though. It may have been old wiring issues, but my son took a small shock when unplugging it. Oh, the irony... Overall, though, we were so happy to find this plug adapter after purchasing a new (to us) dryer and not realizing there had been a plug change in the US. Since I don't recall ever having any problem with the old plug, it really threw me for a loop for a moment there, lol.
