You have to be smarter than the meat thermometer to use it. I've seen a reviewer get upset, and leave a bad review because the thermometer was reading 80° out of the package. Mine did too, because it's SUPPOSED TO! It's just reading the temperature of the room. It's just the same as if you put the probe in your hand, and it reads 98° from your body heat. It will never go down to 0 unless it's actually touching something that cold. The thermometer itself is simple and perfect. No batteries needed, and no complicated screens. Just remember it's not the type that you leave in the oven. just a quick stab with the probe to check internal temperature.

I haven't used this yet but had one previously just like it. They work just fine and have never had a problem. It's a meat thermometer so what is there to say, it gets the job done and it's inexpensive wh inch is a plus in this economy and would purchase again when I need a new one.
